Our Communications infrastructure is being constantly challenged by fires, hurricanes, flooding and attacks. We have backup power for a few days but after that the local citizens are in the dark. The emergency services folks have emergency communications to do their jobs. But how do we call them if the phones and internet are out? What happens if a loved one has a heart attack? How do you let anybody know? How do you know flood waters are heading your way? Where is the closest shelter? Where is your wife and son? How do you let your mother know you are trying to get to her?
These are some of the reasons to have a backup communications system that is powered by the sun and independent of the internet, phones and broadcast communications.
